Absolutely brilliant holiday , extremely quiet calm and relaxing break. From start to finish an awesome stay, host’s lovely people nothing was a problem. The cottage beautiful, extremely clean it has everything you need. Photos on all websites don’t do it justice. the grounds are beautiful well maintained and loved. The gift basket of goodies when we arrived was a lovely touch after such a long journey. The hot tub wow wow wow loved this especially when we first walked in to chocolates, prosecco and strawberries what a beautiful idea. This is a highly recommended holiday there is plenty to do in surrounding area especially Durham cathedral.

The cottages are all beautiful, just my taste where internally they are modern and externally, stone built with history all around. Jacqui, her husband and others that work on site are lovely people. The hamper left in the cottage on arrival was great but on entering the Hot Tub building there was even more – strawberries, chocolates and prosecco. The external areas are beautiful, a lovely cobbled courtyard with tables/chairs and a large patio area at the back with more tables, chairs and a gazebo for shade/cover. The fields are great for dogs, now including an area with a seesaw, tunnel etc. for them to play. Safe to let your dogs off lead (apart from maybe the determined ones), it is doggy paradise. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, and the coast isn’t too far away. Supermarkets a 5 minute drive. There is also the C2C path that is a stones-throw from the cottages. One of my favourite things was getting up very early and sitting alone in the field, watching the rabbits playing. All in all, a lovely break and we are already booked to return next year. Thanks Jacqui, all your hard work has paid off.

The cottages have everything you will need for a relaxing stay. The hot tubs are immaculate with prosecco and strawberries on arrival. They are dog friendly too and our dog was happy to stay there as there are big fields to run around on. You get fluffy robes and disposal slippers for the hot tub and there is also a sauna and ice plunge bath you can arrange to use. We also go a welcome hamper full of goodies from bread and cheese, beers and chocolates. Very relaxing and recommended.

Excellent holiday accommodation and facilities. No hesitation in recommending. Loved our welcome pack. Friendly staff and great for dog owners. A good central location for sightseeing. Thank you for an excellent week.

Lovely cottage,with a great hot tub.Owner and staff friendly and very helpful.Nicely furnished,the equipment was very good.Easy to get to with secure parking and phone operated gates for access. Would recommend this property.

The accommodation was very well thought out and comfortable with some nice little touches making it more homely than your average holiday let. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly keeping the cottage and surrounding complex area clean to a high standard. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to have a relaxed holiday with plenty of walks around and plenty of dog friendly places to go for lunch or dinner out. Locally we were recommended a doggy caffe that has dog play areas where your dog can play, eat doggy afternoon tea if you want along with a dog menu while you eat. All other animals welcomes too even seeing a cat visiting too. Highly recommend and will be returning ourselves.

We stayed recently at Peewit Cottage. The property was clean and well equipped. It was very comfortable. My husband usually complains everywhere we go about the beds but he thought the one here was comfy. There is a massive field to walk dogs in and good walks nearby. The only negative is the road outside is very busy but the property itself is fantastic. I miss hearing cockerels and sheep in the mornings when I let my dog out first thing, it was a great relaxing break.

Sympathetically restored moderdernised stone cottage in beautiful location. Ideal location to relax and unwind, all the facilities here you need, friendly staff to welcome you and give you anything you need…..a week was not enough,woody our dog was in heaven ….thanks

Excellent all round. Accommodation was excellent, hot tub was fantastic and location was great. 5 min drive or a £6 taxi and u have numerous bars and restaurants to visit. Staff were great and always happy to have a chat

Would highly recommend staying at the Rowley Stone cottages, the staff on site were lovely and so attentive. The attention to detail and the little welcome basket for ourselves and the welcome pack for our dog was much appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect, plenty of beautiful walks and the secure dog field was an added bonus. Will definitely be returning!
